Introduction to the Faculty of Environment

In order to address environmental problems arising in the process of socio-economic development, on January 18, 2000, the President of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City issued Decision No. 14/QD/ĐHQG/TCCB on the establishment of the Faculty of Environment, University of Science. Associate Professor Vu Chi Hieu, former lecturer at the Faculty of Geology, was assigned to be the Dean of Faculty of Environment to organize and direct this new faculty. The establishment of the Faculty of Environment marks an important milestone in the training of environmental scientists in line with the world’s trend, as well as a major milestone in the diversification of training disciplines of the University of Science, one of Vietnam leading research institutions in natural science.
